The Problem

Waitamin, an organic cold-pressed juice brand, needed more than a static marketing site. The team wanted to run blog posts, testimonials, and lead-capture campaigns themselves — without waiting on a developer for every copy change or redeploy — while keeping the polished, animated feel of a premium consumer brand.

02

What I Built

I designed and built a production Next.js/TypeScript marketing site backed by a custom Payload CMS (PostgreSQL + S3), giving non-technical staff a full admin panel for blog, testimonial, and lead-capture content. I built REST APIs for contact, partner-inquiry, and email-subscription flows, rich-text blog rendering (Lexical editor to React) with infinite-scroll listing and related-posts logic, and a fully responsive animated UI using Framer Motion and Lenis smooth scroll — scroll-triggered reveals, an animated feature-card scroller, and infinite testimonial and location carousels.

03

The Outcome

The site shipped to production on AWS Amplify with media storage migrated to S3 and database connection pooling tuned for serverless traffic. Staff now publish and edit all content through the CMS with zero code deploys. Delivered solo in about 3 months: roughly 39K lines added across 100 commits.

— Architecture

The content loop

  1. Editors

Non-technical staff, with no developer in the loop.

    publish
  2. Payload CMS

A custom admin panel over blog posts, testimonials, locations, and lead and subscriber collections.

    stores
  3. PostgreSQL + AWS S3

Connection pooling tuned for serverless traffic; media served from S3.

    content fetch
  4. Next.js site on AWS Amplify

Lexical rich text rendered to React, infinite-scroll blog listing and related posts, with a Framer Motion + Lenis animation layer of scroll reveals and infinite carousels.

    visits
  5. Visitor

Reads the site, then submits a contact, partner-inquiry or subscription form.

    posts back through REST
  6. Back into the CMS

Submissions land in Payload's lead and subscriber collections, so staff see them next to everything else — with zero code deploys.

Editors publish through Payload, the Next.js site renders that content, and visitor form submissions land straight back in the CMS as leads. The loop closes without a developer or a deploy anywhere in it.

Key Decisions & Challenges

01

Built a custom Payload CMS backend so a non-technical team fully owns content — no developer needed for day-to-day updates.

02

Implemented Lexical rich-text to React rendering with related-posts logic and infinite-scroll blog listing.

03

Migrated media storage to S3 and tuned PostgreSQL connection pooling for production serverless traffic.

04

Designed the animation system (Framer Motion + Lenis): scroll reveals, feature-card scroller, and infinite carousels that stay smooth on mobile.

05

Configured the AWS Amplify build pipeline for zero-touch production deploys.
